Josh Girard

Josh Girard is a cast member on TGS with Tracy Jordan, forever jockeying for airtime he rarely gets. Eager, a little desperate to be liked, he leans on impressions and enthusiasm to prove he belongs in a room full of bigger personalities and louder egos than his own.

Lonny Ross plays him as the sketch-show equivalent of a kid waving from the back row, and the writers use that eagerness as a running joke about showbiz hierarchy — Josh is proof that not everyone on a hit show gets to be a star, and he keeps smiling anyway.
