Josh

Josh is a Brooklyn tattoo artist in his twenties, easygoing and unguarded, who meets Liza in a bar without knowing she's actually forty-something and has been passing as younger to land a job. He's charming and direct, quick to flirt, and genuinely into her before either of them has any idea how complicated that will get.

Tortorella plays Josh as sincerely sweet rather than a punchline, which matters because the show needs the audience to believe the attraction is real and not just a joke about age. He grounds the premise's more farcical stretches with an easy, unbothered warmth that makes Josh feel like an actual person Liza would fall for.
