Jonah Simms

Jonah Simms walks into the Cloud 9 superstore on his first day radiating the enthusiasm of a man who has just decided retail work will be meaningful and grounding. He's earnest, over-educated, a little insufferable about it, full of ideas nobody asked for, and instantly, obviously smitten with a coworker who has no patience for his nonsense.

Ben Feldman plays Jonah's idealism as something the show gently punctures every episode without ever making him a joke — his eagerness to fix things, to be liked, to matter, keeps colliding with a workplace that runs on inertia and low pay, and the comedy lives in that gap between his self-image and his actual usefulness.
