Johnny Dogs is a horse-trader and trusted hand within the Shelby family's orbit, a Romani cousin-by-kinship who moves easily between the traveller camps and the Small Heath streets. He's affable, quick with a joke, and reliably present whenever Tommy needs muscle, transport, or a favour done quietly.

He works as texture as much as character — a reminder that the Shelbys' world extends beyond the betting shop into traveller life, kinship networks, and old loyalties that predate the gang's rise. Packy Lee plays him loose and warm, never straining for attention, which makes his steady presence at Tommy's side feel earned rather than decorative.
