John Tyler's Head

A disembodied head in a jar, preserved among the ranks of former U.S. presidents on display at the Head Museum in New New York. As the tenth president of the United States, he mostly exists as background trivia and a punchline, popping up whenever Futurama wants to remind you that history's dead but not gone.

The joke is the concept itself: American history reduced to a row of talking jars nobody quite respects. Billy West gives him just enough dignity and mild indignation to sell the absurdity, a footnote president fussing about being a footnote, which is exactly the kind of throwaway bit Futurama built its comedy on.
