John Murphy

John Murphy is a Mapleton man burning with barely contained anger, convinced the Guilty Remnant's silent watchers are tormenting his town on purpose. A husband and father holding his family together by will alone, he deals in facts and fire, not comfort, and trusts his own hands more than any explanation for what happened.

Kevin Carroll plays him as a man who has decided rage is more bearable than grief, and the show lets that decision cost him. What could be a simple hothead becomes something sadder and more exact: someone using certainty as armor, whose eventual cracking open is one of the series' most earned turns.
