John Jackson

John Jackson turns up as one of the many odd faces populating New New York, a small-scale presence rather than a driver of the plot. He speaks his few lines, does his bit of business, and moves on, part of the show's crowded background rather than its foreground.

The pleasure here is entirely vocal: John DiMaggio, best known as Bender's growl, drops into a completely different register for a character who barely registers on the page. It's a reminder of how much texture Futurama built out of throwaway voices, giving even minor names a distinct, lived-in sound.
