She helps manage his home and children, practical and watchful, her affection for him plain even as propriety keeps it unspoken. She belongs to the domestic world just behind the political one.

Saskia Reeves plays her with a stillness that says more than dialogue does — glances held a beat too long, a tenderness she cannot quite name within the constraints of her position. Wolf Hall gives Cromwell almost no soft edges elsewhere, so her quiet, contained devotion becomes one of the few places warmth is allowed to show.
