Joan River's Head

In the 31st century, celebrity heads live on in jars, and Joan Rivers' is no exception, popping up as a caustic entertainment reporter and talk-show fixture. She delivers gossip and jabs with the same brassy, unbothered confidence she always had, just now bodiless and none the worse for it.

The joke is the total absence of adjustment: nobody in this future finds it strange that a disembodied head still has opinions about celebrities, and neither does she. Tress MacNeille nails the rasp and rhythm of the real Rivers so precisely that the sight gag of the jar almost becomes secondary to the voice.
