Jimmy Lusaque Jr.

Jimmy is a talent manager at a big Los Angeles agency, saddled with the unglamorous job of managing Deborah Vance's flagging career. Anxious, eager to please, and perpetually caught between his boss's demands and his clients' egos, he smooths things over with nervous energy and not quite enough backbone.

Paul W. Downs plays Jimmy's flop-sweat professionalism as both comic and quietly poignant — a guy who has organized his whole personality around being useful to difficult people. The writing lets him be ridiculous without making him a punching bag, and Downs, who also co-created the show, finds real tenderness under the fluster.
