Jim Kent is a main character and was a CDC administrator who worked alongside Ephraim Goodweather and Nora Martinez in investigating and controlling the vampire outbreak. He secretly fell under the influence of Thomas Eichhorst, a vampire working for the Master. Jim first allowed the van with the coffin to bypass security at John F. Kennedy International Airport, even though he expresses regret later.
