Jill Garvey

Qualley plays Jill's toughness as armor stretched thin over real feeling, letting small cracks — a flinch, a too-quick joke — show the grief underneath the deadpan. The writing trusts a teenager to carry real moral weight without softening her into a symbol, and Qualley never once plays for sympathy, which is exactly why she gets it.
