Jian-Yang

Jian-Yang lives rent-free in one of the Pied Piper house's rooms, ostensibly working on his own app while contributing almost nothing to the group's actual project. He's blunt to the point of rudeness, indifferent to social niceties, and pursues his own schemes with a single-minded selfishness that never seems to embarrass him.

The joke is that he never performs friendliness or gratitude the way sitcom freeloaders usually do — he just states what he wants and takes it. Jimmy O. Yang plays every outrageous betrayal with the same flat, incurious calm, which makes Jian-Yang's escalating schemes funnier than if he ever seemed to notice they were outrageous.
