Jessi Glaser

Jessi is a seventh grader whose body and moods are suddenly unrecognizable to her, hormone monster Connie cackling at her elbow. She's sharp-tongued, restless, and increasingly furious at a world that keeps changing the rules on her—snapping at friends, testing rebellion, and privately terrified about what's happening to her family and her own skin.

Big Mouth could have made puberty's ugliness cute; instead it lets Jessi be genuinely prickly, and Jessi Klein's voice work finds real anguish under the crude jokes. Her arc treats anxiety and anger as things worth taking seriously in a cartoon about horniness, which is why she ends up the show's most emotionally honest character.
