Character
Jerry Edgar
Jerry Edgar in Bosch (2015), played by Jamie Hector.
Jerry Edgar is Harry Bosch's partner in the LAPD's Hollywood homicide unit, a sharp, disciplined detective who works cases by the book even as Bosch bends every rule in sight. He's got a wife, a young daughter, and a career he takes seriously—patient with his partner, but nobody's pushover.
Jamie Hector plays Edgar with a coiled precision that makes him the show's quiet ballast: watchful, exacting, rarely raising his voice because he doesn't need to. The writing could have left him as the sensible foil to Bosch's chaos, but Hector gives him real interiority—ambition, pride, a moral compass that's his own, not borrowed.
Jerry "Jed" Edgar (AKA J. Edgar) is a homicide detective with the Hollywood division of the LAPD, and an occasional partner of Harry Bosch. He is the father of a son born in 1988, and the cousin of Jason Edgar. He is Haitian-American, 6 ft. 4 in. in height and muscular. Unlike Bosch, Edgar is a sharp dresser, favoring suits from Nordstrom and expensive European shoes.
