Jeff works alongside Mark at JLB, radiating a smug, matey confidence that never quite lands as charm. He talks a good game about self-improvement and success, dishes out unsolicited advice, and treats every office interaction as a chance to remind everyone, gently, that he's winning at life.

Neil Fitzmaurice plays him with just enough warmth that his awfulness sneaks up on you rather than announcing itself. He's a brilliant foil for Mark's anxious self-loathing: Jeff's breezy self-regard, all management-speak and casual cruelty dressed as banter, makes office life feel exactly as grim as it should.
