Jane Boleyn

Jane Boleyn moves through the Tudor court as George Boleyn's wife and Anne's sister-in-law, watching the family's rise with a sharp, unillusioned eye. She is polite, observant, and rarely trusted with warmth by the Boleyns themselves, which seems to suit her fine — she notices everything and says only some of it.

Jessica Raine plays her with a stillness that reads as intelligence rather than passivity, so every glance she gives the Boleyn siblings carries weight without a line of dialogue explaining it. The writing keeps her at the edge of scenes, and that positioning becomes the character: someone permanently, usefully underestimated.
