Jan Bellows

She seems refreshingly normal next to the podcast trio's murder obsession, patient with Charles's awkwardness and genuinely interested in him, a grown-up romance blooming amid the chaos.

Amy Ryan plays Jan with such disarming naturalness that she becomes the show's calm center, a believable adult relationship dropped into a farce about death. The writing uses that ordinariness cleverly, letting her charm double as camouflage, and Ryan never tips her hand, which is exactly the skill the role demands.
