James Madison's Head

A relic of the 31st century's Head Museum, James Madison's Head is exactly what the name promises: the fourth U.S. president reduced to a preserved cranium in a jar, wheeled out for the occasional historical cameo or throwaway gag alongside the show's other bottled Founding Fathers and celebrities.

The joke is the premise itself, and Futurama trusts it to land without explanation—a former president now just a talking head, no dignity intact. Billy West's voice work gives him just enough pompous self-importance to make the indignity funnier, one more piece of the show's endless gag that history itself has been bottled and shelved.
