Jake is the local handyman around Schitt's Creek, a laid-back, tanned charmer who turns up to fix things and stays to flirt. He's easy, unbothered, and refreshingly direct about what he wants, which throws David Rose's anxious circling into sharp relief. No drama, no games — just an open, sunny confidence.

The joke of Jake is that he's almost aggressively simple in a town full of neurotics, and Steve Lund plays that simplicity with a straight face that never tips into parody. He's a comic device — a mirror for David's hang-ups — but Lund gives him enough genuine warmth that he never feels like a punchline.
