Jabbar Trussell

Jabbar is Crosby and Jasmine's young son, a bright, watchful kid navigating a household in flux as his parents work out whether to be a couple or just co-parents. He's curious and open-hearted, quick to ask the questions adults dance around, and eager for stability without quite having the words for it.

Tyree Brown plays him with an unforced naturalism that keeps the show honest — he never tips into precocious-TV-kid shtick, just a real child reacting to real uncertainty. Jabbar grounds Crosby's growing-up arc; his small, direct observations cut through adult evasions and give the family's messiness an emotional center that never feels manipulative.
