Intercom Robot

A disembodied voice piping through the Planet Express intercom, this robot exists to relay announcements nobody asked for and messages nobody wants delivered. It has no body, no plot function beyond the speaker grille, and no interest in being helpful about it — just a flat, put-upon drone informing the crew of whatever mundane or ominous news the script requires.

The joke is entirely in the delivery: Tress MacNeille plays the announcements with a bored, faintly hostile monotone, as though customer-service scripting had achieved sentience and immediately regretted it. It never needs a face or a name to land a laugh — just a few seconds of institutional deadpan is enough to undercut whatever chaos is happening in the room.
