iHawk

iHawk turns up as one of the show's quick sight-gags, a sleek Apple-style product with a bird's name and a bird's swagger, unveiled with the breathless fanfare of a tech-keynote reveal. It struts through its scene fully certain of its own importance, offering little beyond that certainty.

Futurama's best throwaway jokes work by committing completely, and iHawk gets that same all-in treatment: Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor built for pompous, self-important pronouncements, gives it a bark of absolute conviction that makes a gadget-pun landing harder than it has any right to.
