Ichi Mezato

Ichi Mezato runs the school newspaper at Salt Middle School with the instincts of a born investigator, chasing rumors and oddities with a reporter's nose for a story. Sharp-tongued and unflappable, she notices what others miss, including the strange quiet kid named Mob, and can't resist digging until she understands him.

She's the audience's proxy for curiosity, the one character treating Mob's weirdness as a mystery worth solving rather than something to ignore or fear. Fujimura plays her dry and unbothered, which makes her occasional genuine surprise land harder, and gives the show a grounded, skeptical voice amid all its psychic chaos.
