Hordriss

Hordriss the Deceiver is a wizard the dungeoneers stumble upon deep within Knightmare's crumbling halls, usually holed up in a tower or chamber of his own devising. Imperious and easily ruffled, he trades in riddles and precise phrasing, demanding advisers and dungeoneers alike speak to him exactly as he wishes to be spoken to, or suffer his displeasure.

Clifford Norgate plays him with a theatrical, quavering grandeur that turns pedantry into genuine tension: get a word wrong and Hordriss might vanish, sulk, or simply refuse to help, so his temperament becomes a puzzle in itself. It's a performance that makes a cheap-looking set feel dangerous through voice alone.
