Hippie Woman

Hippie Woman drifts through the crowd scenes of New New York as a leftover flower child in the year 3000, all tie-dye calm and mellow non-sequiturs. She wants little beyond peace, good vibes, and whatever countercultural cause is at hand, offering dreamy asides while the plot happens around her.

She works because Futurama loves background gags as much as A-plots, and Tress MacNeille gives her a spacey, sing-song cadence that turns one throwaway line into a tiny comic bit. She's proof the show's world feels lived-in — even its extras have a whole worldview in half a sentence.
