Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch

Harry Bosch is an LAPD homicide detective in Los Angeles, driven by a near-religious conviction that everybody counts or nobody counts. He works his cases with obsessive focus, bending procedure and irritating superiors when the job demands it, guided by his late mother's murder and a soldier's discipline. Divorced, devoted to his daughter, he trusts almost no one but his own instincts.

Titus Welliver plays Bosch with a stillness that reads as competence rather than menace—he lets silence do the intimidating. The writing resists making him a maverick cliché by grounding his stubbornness in genuine moral clarity, and Welliver's gravelly, unhurried delivery makes every interrogation and confrontation feel like a controlled burn.
