Henry Wingrave

Henry Wingrave is the London solicitor and reluctant guardian of two orphaned children, Flora and Miles, whose parents have died. He handles their affairs from a careful distance, drowning something in drink, and hires Dani as their new au pair rather than face Bly Manor himself. He is polished, evasive, and clearly avoiding the house.

Henry Thomas plays him as a man performing composure over something raw underneath — the charm is real but thin, a lawyer's manner stretched over guilt he won't name. The show lets him stay peripheral at first, a voice on the phone, which makes every small crack in his control land harder when it finally shows.
