Henry Kissinger's Head

Henry Kissinger's Head in Futurama (1999), played by John DiMaggio.

One of the many disembodied heads-in-jars populating Futurama's future, Henry Kissinger's Head turns up as a background fixture of New New York society — a relic of 20th-century politics bobbing along in his tank, occasionally offering officious, self-important commentary as if he still wielded real influence.

The gag depends entirely on deadpan absurdity: a former Secretary of State reduced to a jar, still projecting gravity and self-regard. John DiMaggio's gruff, clipped delivery treats every pronouncement as weighty statecraft, which is precisely what makes the joke land — the show never explains it, just lets him bob past.

Henry Alfred Kissinger (May 27, 1923 - November, 29, 2023) was a German-born American politician. By 2999, his still living head was preserved and on display at the Head Museum in New New York City. He tried to negotiate a peace treaty with the Brain Balls of Spheron I.
