Henry IV

Henri de Navarre arrives at the French court as a Protestant prince bound by marriage into a Catholic royal family he does not trust and does not fully belong to. He is young, watchful, and quick with a joke that covers how carefully he is calculating his own survival in a house full of enemies.

Imrie plays him as someone permanently doing two things at once — charming a room while reading its exits. The show gives him real political peril to navigate, and the performance finds a nervy, slightly manic wit in that danger, so his humor never feels safe, only necessary.
