Henry Grubstick

Henry works in accounting at Mode, which puts him one floor and several worlds away from the glossy chaos upstairs. He's polite, a little bumbling, unfailingly decent in a building full of sharks, and he takes an obvious, unforced interest in Betty Suarez that has nothing to do with how she looks.

He works because he's a relief valve: after an episode of Wilhelmina's scheming, Henry's plain kindness feels like fresh air. Christopher Gorham plays him without a trace of smirk, so his niceness never curdles into a joke, and Betty finally has someone whose interest in her isn't a punchline.
