Helly Riggs

Helly wakes on a boardroom table with no memory of ever being anyone else. She's the newest employee on Lumon's severed floor, and unlike her cheerful colleagues she refuses to accept the arrangement — she wants out, immediately, by any means, and her fury at being told that's impossible only sharpens her.

Britt Lower plays the show's argument for free will in a single body: the innie who won't perform gratitude for her own captivity. Her rage reads as sane rather than difficult, which forces the whole premise to justify itself. Lower gives Helly a coiled, almost feral physicality that makes every small act of defiance feel enormous.
