Hayden Stagg

Hayden Stagg turns up in Small Heath as a boxer-turned-enforcer, a squat, coiled man whose fists have made his name and whose loyalty is for hire. He talks little, watches everything, and carries himself like violence that hasn't decided where to land yet.

Stephen Graham needs no exposition to make a man frightening — a flat stare and a slow exhale do it. The show gives Stagg the economy of a hired blade rather than a rounded villain, and Graham plays that restraint like a held breath, so every scene he's in feels one word away from erupting.
