Hair Dryer

A minor bit of background business in Futurama's endlessly gadget-filled world, Hair Dryer is exactly what the name promises: an appliance that speaks, briefly, because in this universe even household objects have opinions. It shows up, does its small comic job, and vanishes without lingering.

The joke is the economy of it — Maurice LaMarche, a voice actor capable of full-throated gravitas, is handed an appliance and treats the line reading with the same commitment he'd give a starship captain. That mismatch of talent to task is the entire gag, and it's very Futurama.
