Gwendoline

Gwendoline appears within the shifting rooms of the dungeon, one of the costumed figures a team of young adventurers might meet while guiding their blindfolded dungeoneer through Knightmare's maze of traps and riddles. She speaks in the stylised, faintly archaic manner of the show's world, offering help, obstruction, or cryptic terms depending on the moment.

Knightmare's charm always lived in these brief, theatrical encounters, where a single actor had to conjure a whole medieval-fantasy personality out of a few lines and a low-budget set. Juliet Henry-Massy brings the commitment the show depended on, playing Gwendoline with the straight-faced sincerity that let children believe, however briefly, in the dungeon's strange logic.
