Guard Dog

Guard Dog is exactly what the label suggests: a growling, no-nonsense sentry stationed wherever the plot needs someone intimidating and four-legged. He barks orders, blocks doorways, and treats every visitor as a trespasser until proven otherwise, all with the flat, suspicious menace of a professional watchman who takes the job very seriously.

The joke is in the mismatch between the character's tiny screen time and Maurice LaMarche's full commitment to a gravelly, hard-boiled tough-guy delivery for what is, after all, a dog. It's a blink-and-you-miss-it bit part elevated purely by vocal craft, the kind of throwaway gag Futurama specializes in.
