Guard

A guard is exactly that: a uniformed figure standing between the crew and wherever they are trying to go, whether a vault, a prison block, or some restricted corner of the future. He follows orders, blocks the door, and exists mainly to be argued with, bribed, or evaded.

Maurice LaMarche built a career on Futurama's background voices, and a role like this shows the craft of it: a stock authority figure given just enough gruff, deadpan delivery to land a joke and vanish. It's a small piece of what makes the show's crowded universe feel fully populated.
