Grumpy Snail

A snail appears for a moment in the sprawling background business of Futurama's universe, cranky and unbothered by the chaos around it. It doesn't want much beyond being left alone, and it says so, in the put-upon tone of a creature interrupted mid-errand by a world too large and loud for its taste.

The joke is entirely in the mismatch: a slow, irritable little mollusk given a fully human temper and Maurice LaMarche's rich, grumbling delivery. Futurama built a whole comic style out of throwaway background gags getting full commitment, and a snail complaining about its day is exactly that kind of small, perfect absurdity.
