Greystagg appears as one of the strange figures a dungeoneer meets while picking a way through Knightmare's shifting rooms and corridors — a guide, obstacle, or riddler encountered mid-quest. Little about them is fixed beyond the moment: they speak in the clipped, half-menacing, half-helpful register the game demands, and their purpose only becomes clear as the young adventurer decides whether to trust them.

Knightmare's charm always ran on brief, vivid encounters rather than developed arcs, and a character like Greystagg works because Iona Kennedy commits fully to the theatrical strangeness the format needs — a costumed presence who has to convince within a single scene, using voice and stillness to make a low-budget fantasy room feel genuinely uncertain.
