Greta Hall runs the household with quiet, unshakeable authority, present in nearly every room without ever seeming to intrude. She keeps the routines of the house moving, notices what the family would rather she didn't, and says little more than is necessary to get things done properly.

There's real pleasure in a character who holds power through competence rather than status, and the writing trusts her silences as much as her lines. Jeronime Parker plays her with a watchfulness that suggests a whole inner life the story never has to spell out, making her feel indispensable rather than decorative.
