Gregory Eddie

Gregory Eddie starts out as a substitute at Abbott Elementary who actually applied to be principal, not a teacher, and clearly considers the classroom beneath his ambitions. He's buttoned-up, fastidious, and a little superior, hiding real nerves behind deadpan composure as the documentary crew and his chaotic new coworkers wear down his guard.

Tyler James Williams plays the straight man so precisely that every flicker of exasperation or reluctant warmth lands like a punchline. The writing lets his stiffness crack slowly and believably, especially opposite Janine, and Williams finds real tenderness underneath the deadpan without ever losing the character's dry, self-serious comic engine.
