Grace is Spencer James's mother, a nurse and single parent who has held her family together in South Central LA through sheer will. She's proud, protective, and clear-eyed about the world her son is stepping into, wary of the pull Beverly Hills exerts on him even as she wants better for her kids.

Karimah Westbrook plays Grace as a woman whose warmth never slides into softness — she loves fiercely but argues her point like someone who has had to fight for everything. The show could easily sideline her as a worried mom; instead it keeps giving her the moral center of scenes, and she earns it.
