Grace Fraser

Grace Fraser is a Manhattan therapist with a gorgeous apartment, a golden marriage to a charming pediatric oncologist, and a son at an elite private school. She spends her days helping other people examine their lives while her own seems, on the surface, enviably settled. She is warm, watchful, and quietly sure of the story she's telling herself.

Kidman plays composure as a kind of performance, so that Grace's stillness starts to look like something she's maintaining rather than something she has. The show hands her a life built on unexamined trust, and the fascination is watching a woman whose entire profession is reading people slowly realize she may have never really read her own.
