Gonzo / Dr. Bunsen Honeydew / Zoot

Three faces of the same performer: Gonzo the Great, a nose-first daredevil convinced his stunts are art; Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, a cheerfully oblivious scientist unveiling inventions with total faith in their safety; and Zoot, the Electric Mayhem's placid, half-conscious saxophonist. Each greets chaos with sunny, unshaken sincerity.

Dave Goelz gives each puppet a completely different rhythm of thought—Gonzo's earnest lunacy, Bunsen's beaming denial, Zoot's stoned calm—so they never blur despite one hand behind them. The comedy lives in commitment: nobody in these bodies ever doubts themselves, which is exactly why we do, and why it's funny.
