Gold Robot

A minor robot glimpsed among the crowds and bots of New New York, gold-plated and easy to miss unless you're looking. Like most of Futurama's background machinery, it exists to fill out a scene or land a quick joke rather than to carry the plot — present, functional, gone before you can ask its name.

Futurama's genius was never spending its A-list voice talent only on leads, and hearing Lauren Tom's voice pop up on a one-line robot is part of that pleasure — the show treats even its throwaway machines with real vocal craft, rewarding anyone paying close attention to the margins of the frame.
