Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela runs Cali's cartel like a corporation, not an empire. Known as the Chess Player, he wants the business protected and himself invisible — a quiet man who believes discretion is the ultimate power move.

Alcázar plays him as the anti-Pablo: measured, courteous, terrifyingly rational. The show uses him to argue that the truly dangerous men are the boring ones — the ones who treat murder as a line item. His stillness becomes its own kind of menace, and Alcázar never overplays it, letting the calm do all the damage.
