The joke is the mismatch: a genuine musical legend rendered as deadpan spirit guide for hormonal middle schoolers, and the show never explains or undercuts the absurdity, just lets it sit. Whoever's voicing him leans into hushed, mystical cadence, so the silliness plays completely straight, which is funnier than any punchline could be.
