General's Assistant

A stiff-backed military aide who shadows his General through briefings and bureaucratic nonsense, relaying orders and absurd details with total deadpan seriousness. He exists to keep the chain of command moving, however ridiculous the command, and never once questions the logic of the world he serves.

John DiMaggio, already Bender's voice, slips into a completely different register here — clipped, dry, utterly humorless — which is its own quiet joke for anyone listening closely. The character himself is a footnote, but that vocal contrast turns a throwaway role into a small delight for the attentive.
