Gendry

Gendry is a blacksmith's apprentice in King's Landing, big and quiet and good with his hands, unaware of the weight his own face carries whenever someone looks at him twice. He wants no part of politics, just honest work, and reacts to danger and kindness alike with the same guarded, working-class practicality.

Joe Dempsie plays him as stubbornly unimpressed by nobility, which makes him a rare grounding presence amid so much scheming — he shrugs at destiny rather than chasing it. That reluctance, paired with real decency and a temper when pushed, gives the show one of its few characters content to just want a simple life.
