Gendou Ikari

Gendou Ikari commands NERV from behind steepled fingers and glinting glasses, sending his own teenage son into an Evangelion to fight monstrous Angels while offering him almost nothing in the way of warmth. He speaks in clipped, deniable sentences, withholds explanations as policy, and treats the people around him as instruments in a plan only he seems to understand.

The writing keeps him almost entirely opaque, letting silence and stillness do the menace, and the performance leans into that: a flat, controlled voice that rarely rises, so the few cracks in his composure land like small earthquakes. He works because you spend the whole series trying to read a face designed to give you nothing.
